For the K-State volleyball team, an Oct. 3 loss to Nebraska was no shining moment in a season full of positives.
But on that date, the Huskers showed why they are one of the top programs in the nation by pulling the three-game sweep.
This time around, it's a new location and a new scenario as the No. 2 Huskers face No. 12 K-State in a 7 p.m. match Saturday at Ahearn Field House.
Nebraska still is reeling from its first loss of the season, a three-game sweep against Texas that snapped a 29-match winning streak.
The Huskers survived another upset Wednesday when they fought off Missouri for a 3-2 win at home.
Still, the loss to Texas showed how tough Big 12 volleyball can be on the road. K?State coach Suzie Fritz said her team was affected by the environment of Nebraska earlier this season, and she expects the Huskers to bring some of their own crowd to Ahearn this weekend.
"They will bring plenty of their own environment with them," Fritz said. "That's how it is when they come here. Certainly it's much easier to play in the place where you are more comfortable."
Fritz said she was letdown by her team's performance in the last meeting.
"I was disappointed with how uninspired we were, because that's how it felt the first time we played them," Fritz said. "We looked very uninspired, and it's a difficult environment to play in at Nebraska, but at the same time it seemed like we were a little bit intimidated."
The Wildcats are coming off a sweep of Texas Tech Wednesday that put them ahead of Oklahoma in the Big 12 standings at third.
The rematch with Nebraska could come at a good time, with the Cornhuskers struggling in their last two matches.
"I know we need to and can play significantly better than we played the first time," Fritz said.
