K-State women's basketball players celebrate during their win over KU Wednesday in Lawrence. The Wildcats became outright Big 12 champions Thursday after Oklahoma State defeated Baylor.

The K-State women needed a Baylor loss Thursday night to become outright Big 12 Conference regular season champions.

No. 20 Oklahoma State delivered for the Wildcats, knocking off the No. 8 Bears 72-68 in Waco, Texas.

It was the second time the Cowboys beat Baylor this season.

The loss means K-State (21-8, 13-3 Big 12) will be the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 tournament and will play its first game at noon Wednesday in the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium.

K-State ensured at least a piece of the title Wednesday after defeating KU 61-50 in Lawrence.
