The K-State women’s basketball team finished off its nonconference schedule Saturday afternoon as they defeated Central Arkansas 81-38 and protected its perfect record heading into conference play. The Wildcats (13-0) were lead by the performance of Ashley Sweat, who scored a team-high 15 points.
In it’s first game back from Christmas break, the K-State men’s basketball team beat the Wagner Seahawks 82-53 Tuesday night in Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats used tremendous defensive pressure to jump out to a 12-0 lead. Wagner’s first points came on two free throws by freshman guard Tyler Murray.
The K-State women’s basketball team defeated the Huskies of Washington University (4-5) 73-60 Tuesday evening for its record 12th consecutive win to open the 2008 campaign. The Wildcats surpassed the 1968-69 squad that began its season with 11 consecutive victories.
A day after final exams were completed, the K-State men’s basketball had to get up and play a basketball game before leaving for Christmas break. After a sluggish start, the Wildcats (8-3) were able to pull away from the Centenary Gents (2-10) by a score of 73-51 Saturday afternoon on Big Red One Appreciation Day in Bramlage Coliseum.
Wildcats pummel Bulldogs By Brad Dornes From tip-off to the final game buzzer, K-State dominated the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs in nearly every aspect of the game. The Wildcats never relinquished the lead during their 107-48 victory Sunday night in Bramlage Coliseum.
The women’s basketball team improved to 9-0 on the season after defeating the University of Texas-Arlington 75-63 Sunday afternoon, matching their best start since the 1980-81 season. With the victory the Wildcats also extended their nonconference home win streak to 28 games.
